Prabowo Plans Largest Education Budget in Indonesian History: Rp 757.8 Trillion in 2026

He announced a record allocation of Rp 757.8 trillion for education in the 2026 state budget, highlighting the crucial role of education in producing globally competitive human resources and combating poverty. Prabowo emphasized the need for effective utilization of education funds, focusing on enhancing teacher welfare and quality, improving vocational training, and aligning curricula with industry demands. The budget breakdown includes funding for various education programs, scholarships, and facility upgrades. President Prabowo also pledged to enhance People’s Schools and Garuda Excellence Schools to provide quality education to disadvantaged children. Additionally, he outlined plans to expand scholarships through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education to nurture a generation capable of competing on a global scale.
