Prabowo Praises Anwar Ibrahim for Mediating Thailand-Cambodia Conflict

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, commended Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for successfully mediating the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, resulting in a ceasefire. This recognition was given during their bilateral meeting at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. President Prabowo congratulated Prime Minister Anwar for his leadership as Chair of ASEAN and his efforts in securing the ceasefire, emphasizing the importance of such achievement.

He assured Indonesia’s support for Prime Minister Anwar, both in his role as the head of the Malaysian government and as the current Chair of ASEAN. President Prabowo highlighted the significance of peaceful conflict resolution through consultation, negotiation, and mediation among ASEAN nations. He stressed the shared principle of resolving issues through peaceful means, especially considering the cultural and historical similarities within the region.

Accompanied by senior members of the Red and White Cabinet, President Prabowo welcomed Prime Minister Anwar, expressing the belief that mediation is key to resolving conflicts in Southeast Asia. He reiterated the importance of consultation, negotiation, and consensus, emphasizing the shared heritage and values among nations in the region.
