The Indonesian diaspora in Brazil warmly welcomed President Prabowo Subianto during his visit to the country. Isaque Hattu, the Chair of the Indonesian Diaspora in São Paulo, expressed his delight in greeting the President and the delegation. Despite being a small community in Brazil, the Indonesian diaspora showed a strong sense of solidarity as they welcomed their leader. Hattu, who comes from Maluku and Kupang descent, had a chance to informally chat with Prabowo during the event. The President was pleased to hear about Hattu’s family background and even recognized the name of Petrus Oktavianus, an Indonesian figure previously sent to Brazil. Hattu expressed his hope that Prabowo’s leadership would strengthen the ties between Indonesia and Brazil through cultural exchange and grassroots engagement. The meeting was a significant moment for the Indonesian diaspora in Brazil and highlighted the ongoing efforts to foster a deeper understanding and relationship between the two nations.
