French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit to Indonesia underscores the deep and meaningful partnership between the two countries. Macron emphasized that the friendship between Indonesia and France goes beyond symbolism, reflecting a genuine and robust cooperation. The warm reception he received from President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta was a testament to this strong bond.

During his visit, Macron highlighted the opportunity to strengthen the strategic partnership between France and Indonesia, particularly in the fields of economy, technology, security, and culture. Over the 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, significant progress has been made, especially in the past decade.
