Prabowo Subianto Mengunjungi Kantor PGI, Memperkenalkan Visi-Misinya dan Menerima Masukan dari Pengurus

Jakarta – Candidate number 2 for President, Prabowo Subianto, paid a visit to the Office of the Fellowship of Churches in Indonesia (PGI) at Graha Oikoumene, Jakarta, on Friday, January 19, 2024. At the event attended by former PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) politician Maruarar Sirait, Prabowo delivered Christmas and New Year’s messages and introduced a book containing the vision, mission, and program offered together with vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

In a dialogue with the PGI officials, Prabowo expressed his happiness to be present in the Christmas and New Year atmosphere.

“I hope this year brings goodness to all of us,” said Prabowo.

He also mentioned that he is not a stranger to the PGI, as he had exchanged views with the previous PGI leaders.

Maruarar Sirait emphasized that the PGI is where he goes through a process, and he invited PGI officials to have discussions with Prabowo and provide constructive suggestions and criticisms.

“Pak Prabowo is very open to listen to input, suggestions, and constructive criticism for the good of the nation,” said Maruarar.

At the event, Prabowo distributed the vision-mission book to the attending PGI officials.

“I also brought the book. Maybe it has been circulated? Maybe it can be distributed while I speak,” he said.

In response to the complaints and suggestions put forward by the PGI officials, Prabowo assured that the input would be further discussed.

“I will soon meet with the Governor of DKI to discuss this. The issue of education was also good,” said Prabowo, responding to the requests and hopes of the dialogue participants.

In addition to Maruarar, Prabowo was also accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Grace Natalie. PSI is one of the political parties that is part of the Coalition of Indonesia Maju to support Prabowo-Gibran. In the 2024 election, Prabowo-Gibran will compete with two other pairs of candidates, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.

The campaign period will last until February 10, 2024, while the voting will be held simultaneously on February 14, 2024 after a period of calm on February 11-13, 2024.

In his response, Prabowo Subianto stated, “Your requests are reasonable, and I will soon meet with the Governor of DKI to discuss this. The issue of education was also good. I believe I am not a stranger to the PGI.”
